Drinking glass, 2021
Drinking glass, 2021
Through arts and crafts, we want to contribute to a better world for girls and women, a world where menstruation is no longer taboo.
1 glass = 1 menstrual cup
For each glass sold, we donate a menstrual cup. The donation cups go to the Care Mahila project, which works for women's menstrual health in Nepal. The menstrual cups that are donated are produced by MonthlyCup in their own factory in Skåne.
The glasses are designed and mouth-blown in Gustavsberg, Stockholm. Dimensions: 85x120mm. 20cl. Dishwasher safe.
Leona W. Chalmers
American actress and author who invented the menstrual cup in the 1930s.

It really gives a new dimension to our everyday work to work on such a project as Majblomman 2020. As designer and craftsmen get the chance to create objects that can really make a difference for someone else. in this case children. We have produced a unique drinking glass inspired by this year's color. Hand blown in Gustavsberg. We give away three glasses to three persons who donate money to Majblomman. Follow the link - donate - take a print screen and send in DM and you have the chance to win a glass. 23 April - 31 May Link: https://majblomman.se/insamling/normal-object-factory/ |
"Majblomman is a nonprofit organisation with the mission to decrease the impact of child poverty in Sweden. Children in families with a low level of income can apply to Majblomman for financial aid to cover costs such as after school activity fees, winter clothes or sports equipment. Children are eligible for Majblomman grants up until the year they turn 18. Majblomman’s work is financed by thousands of children that sell “majblomman” – a small flower pin – each year in April."
WORKERS LAMP
CHART Art Fair, 30 August - 1 September 2019
Workers Lamp Lightning objects, in solid, hot sculptured glass with inspiration from the old lace workers lamp. In early 1900 the lace workers used glass globes, filled with water to amplify the poor daylight. In this age of electric light and such light sources as quartz halogen, we tend to forget that it is an invention of comparatively modern times. Today we take good working light sources for granted but our historical forbearers of lace-making had no such luxury. What will happen with light resources in the future?
Material: Hot sculptural glass, LED light and PLA.
